description:

The main aim of the project is to research and explore mechanisms of civil society friendly decision-making at micro-regional level, to debate and discuss these mechanisms with experts’ working groups, and to present the outcomes in a booklet for the benefit of civil society and public administration institutions. The main action of the project will be to examine the emergence and prevalence of participative democracy as a European value. Another goal of the project is the comparative expert analysis of public administration and regional development decision-making and partnership at micro-regional level which is functioning in Hungary and other European Union countries. The aim of this is to analyse its transparency and the possibilities for citizen and civil society organisation participation.

Within this we will analyse the functioning and regulation of public administration at micro-regional level to discover the characteristic problems, and the possibilities for their resolution in international practise, analysing its adaptability in Hungary. With expert involvement we will evaluate the possibilities for citizen involvement, the practical realization of this involvement, and the function of civil society organisations. We will provide professional support for consultation initiatives and civil cooperation which demonstrate a clear potential for the future.
